TT Kidz has been shortlisted for a prestigious national sports award.
Our initiative aimed at giving seven-to-11-year-olds a fun introduction to the sport has been named as a finalist in the ukactive Awards.
TT Kidz is in the Generation Active Award category, which recognises a programme, project or initiative that engages, promotes and sustains physical activity in children and young people – inspiring them to be more active, more often.
In creating their shortlist, judges particularly looked for projects with an innovative approach.
Table Tennis England now has the chance to make a presentation to the award judges next week, providing more in-depth information about the success of TT Kidz to help them as they choose an overall winner of the award.

Table Tennis England’s National Participation Manager Jenny Leach said: “It is very exciting to be a finalist in the Generation Active Award.
“Since the launch of TT Kidz in 2019, the programme has grown significantly. Despite not being able to do any club delivery since March 2020, the TT Kidz team have been able to provide online content including live camps and after-school clubs as well as kit giveaways through partnerships with foodbanks.
“We have also introduced the TT Kidz Awards scheme, allowing children to chart their progress as they learn new skills which will underpin their table tennis participation.
“We look forward to sharing the success of the programme with the panel.”
