Ahead of Safe Sport Day on Sunday, Table Tennis England is pleased to announce the completion of a Safeguarding Team.

Victoria Wiegleb has been appointed as an accredited and fully qualified Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to work with the Safeguarding Manager (DSL) Judy Rogers to make our sport safer.

Additionally, all of Table Tennis England’s Safeguarding policies, procedures and guidelines have been updated and renewed. Click here to visit the Safeguarding section of our website.

Contact has been made with all Premier Club Welfare Officers, with an ongoing project to contact all clubs over the next six months to ensure they know how to get in touch with us, how we can help, and how Safeguarding is embedded into our organisation.

Work is continually ongoing but we are committed to making sure our sport is protected to the highest standard, working proactively to ensure all our members can enjoy their sport in a safe environment.

* Sunday August 8th is Safe Sport Day. Championed by the International Safeguards for Children in Sport Initiative, a coalition of more than 75 organisations working together to make sport safer for children, Safe Sport Day is about raising awareness and taking action.

The International Safeguards for Children in Sport is a free resource, designed to guide organisations on their safeguarding journey. The eight Safeguards were developed with input from organisations across six continents, from International Federations and professional top-flight sports clubs to local grass-roots organisations – united by a single aim to ensure all children, everywhere, are safe in sport.
