Demand is high for our range of Level 1 Session Coach courses around the country – but spaces are still available on a small number of courses this autumn.
The courses at Goodwin TTC in Hull, Swerve TTC in Middlesbrough and at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston still have places available.
The Level 1 Session Coach course is designed to give learners the tools to start their journey on the Coaching Pathway. It focuses on both the ‘How to Coach’ and ‘What to Coach’ elements of coaching. It provides learners with the necessary skills to be able to plan and deliver engaging table tennis coaching activities/sessions regardless of the environment you coach in.
The course is divided into three elements:
- Practical – two days face-to-face led by a Table Tennis England qualified tutor/assessor
- eLearning – online element for both learning and assessment
- Workbook – provides the ‘How’ and ‘What’ to coach skills along with written task
The dates at the three locations are:
Goodwin: September 29 & October 31
Swerve: November 6 & December 11
UCLan: October 17 & November 28
The course is available to those aged 16 and over and costs £190.

Table Tennis England Coaching and Education Manager Aled Howell said: “With the return of table tennis well under way we’ve seen a positive impact in the number of people taking up our training courses/workshops.
“Since the launch of the Return to the Table campaign we have had 115 learners sign up to various courses, who are looking to progress and support in the world of coaching.
“Our coaching courses are back up and running, with the majority reaching full capacity. It’s rewarding to see the desire those have to step up and help out.
“With a series of courses maxing out to capacity it’s great to see venues like Waterside in Southampton reaching a total of 22 coaches signed up become a Level 1 Session Coach.”
