The WTT Star Contender event is underway in Doha, with three English athletes competing at the event.

Liam Pitchford and Paul Drinkhall are both in the Men’s singles, with Pitchford entering the competition tomorrow in the round of 32. The pair are also teaming up for the Men’s doubles which gets underway today.

Tin-Tin Ho is also making an appearance at the event, playing mixed doubles with Liam Pitchford and playing women’s doubles with Austria’s Karoline Mischek.

Mixed Doubles:

Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho bt Tiago Apolinia and  Jieni Shao of Portugal 3-1 (13-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-9).

Men’s Doubles:

Liam Pitchford and Paul Drinkhall bt CHEN Chien-An and CHUANG Chih-Yuan of Chinese Taipeiat 3-1 (11-7, 11-1, 5-11, 11-7).

Women’s Doubles:

Tin-Tin Ho and Karoline Mischek bt Maryam Farei and Shima Farei of Iran 3-0 (11-9, 11-9, 11-5).

Men’s Singles:

Paul Drinkhall loses to Daniel Habesohn 2-3 (2-11, 7-11, 15-13, 12-10, 4-11).

Women’s Singles:

Tin-Tin Ho loses to Archana Girish Kamath 1-3 (7-11, 11-6, 11-13, 8-11).
