This time four years ago, the table tennis world came to London for the ITTF Team World Cup – and England’s men stepped up to the plate to deliver a stunning bronze medal!
The venue was the Copper Box, the iconic Box That Rocks from the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
With full-strength England teams on view alongside heavyweights like China, Japan and Germany, it was a chance to see the best in the world up close.
A host of English officials were also on duty at an award-winning event which showcased the best of the sport.
All of this is covered in our brilliant centenary book English Table Tennis at 100 – A Century in Photographs – as the sneak preview below shows. These are actual pages from the book, which will be available from next month!

From the early days of the creation of the governing body in 1921, world champions Fred Perry, Johnny Leach and Diane & Rosalind Rowe, legends like Jill Parker and Desmond Douglas, and modern heroes such as Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho, the book is a fascinating journey through the events and characters who have shaped our sport over 100 years.
We are currently taking pre-orders for the book. There are two editions available – a limited edition autographed Special Edition and an Official Edition.
