Sport England’s Active Lives Survey

Sport England’s Active Lives data provides the most accurate measure for table tennis participation across England.

  • About 349,600 adults (aged 16+) in England participate in table tennis at least twice a month (about 0.8% of the population)
  • About 242,900 men in England participate in table tennis at least twice a month (about 1.1% of the male population)
  • About 104,500 of women in England participate in table tennis at least twice a month (about 0.4% of the female population)
  • About 291,400 children and young people in school Years 1-11 in England participate in table tennis in any given week (about 4.0% of the population)
  • About 204,800 boys in school Years 1-11 participate in table tennis in any given week (about 5.5% of the population)
  • About 83,900 girls in school Years 1-11 participate in table tennis in any given week (about 2.3% of the population)
