Tom Jarvis went out at the first hurdle at the WTT Contender Zagreb event.

The national men’s singles champion had a bye into the second qualifying round, where he faced Italy’s Mihai Bobocica, ranked No 170 in the world.

Jarvis, currently ranked at 101, was 2-0 down after a protracted second game but raised hopes of a comeback by taking the third 11-9. But Bobocica won the fourth to complete victory.
