Market Rasen and Team Bribar launch the defence of their respective women’s and men’s titles as the Veterans’ British League returns this weekend.
Around 370 players will compete in 15 divisions – four in the women’s section and 11 in the men’s – with most of the action taking place at Derby Arena.
There is also a satellite venue, as Draycott & Long Eaton TTC host men’s Division Five, making a total of 46 tables in operation across the two locations.

In the women’s competition, Market Rasen (pictured above) sealed the title in a winner-take-all match against Bribar Knighton Park in the final round of last season’s competition and both teams are again strong.
Bribar Failand have three players in the top eight of the ratings, while Ellenborough have the No 1 Sara Williams – who won 19 of her 20 matches last season.
On the men’s side, Team Bribar were runaway winners last season, when they were victorious in every match and only lost seven individual matches across the two weekends, spearheaded by Kevin Dolder winning all 14 of his fixtures and team-mates Chris Rogers and Jason Ramage notching 17 out of 20 apiece – all three are in the top six in the ratings and are again in the squad.
Tees Sport VETTS and Draycott each have two top-10 players in their ranks, while Foresters A can call on No 4 Ritchie Venner.
