Two young England players spent two weeks on the road, in two different countries through the ETTU talents camps scheme, which offer our star players a chance to engage with the best players from the continent in the U13 age bracket.
In week 1, Kacper Piwowar and Abraham Sellado headed with coach Ryan Jenkins to the Slovenian city of Otocec for an ETTU selection camp.
They faced a tough field of opponents from Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Czech, Azerbaijan, Romania, Sweden, Spain, Lithuania, Ireland, Austria and Greece and Kacper finished sixth place and Abraham 10th.
On to Nantes in France for week 2. This development camp was for those players (pictured above) who successfully qualified through the 2021 process and Kacper made the cut.
With colleagues from Andorra, Slovakia, Belgium, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Turkey, Azerbaijan and hosts France, it was another testing week with great matches. Kacper finished 13th in the two-day competition.
After a few days to relax at home it’s on to the Hungarian and Slovakian Youth Contender events. Kacper’s next training activity is the ETTU camp in Havirov, Czech Republic, along with Abraham. Kacper will then head to Portugal with the ITTF Hopes team.
