Isaac Kingham and Larry Trumpauskas reached the last 32 of a busy WTT Youth Contender Szombathely.

The pair were among four English players to qualify for the knockout stage of the under-15 Boys’ Singles in Hungary.

Both won their open match in the round of 128 and then made it through again in the round of 64, Trumpauskas overcoming Germany’s Noah Hersel, ranked 50 places higher than him at #234.

Their runs ended in the next round, Trumpauskas going down to Darryl Tsao of the USA and Kingham to Noah Dahlstrom of Sweden, both higher ranked.

Dahlstrom had earlier prevented an all-England match as he defeated Ralph Pattison in the last 64, the same stage at which Jakub Piwowar, the highest-ranked English player there, exited.

Max Radiven and Prayrit Ahluwalia both went out in the group stage, as they did in tbe under-13s, although both picked up a victory in the younger age group and Radiven was edged out 12-10 in a deciding fifth in the older category.

In the under-17s, Ben Piggott reached the round of 64, where he was beaten by highly-rated Alan Kurmangaliyev of Kazakhstan. Kingham, Piwowar and Toby Ellis went out in the round of 128.

In the under-19s, neither Ellis, Piggott or Josh Bruce were able to claim a group-stage victory, though Piggott lost one 11-9 in the fifth.
