A record entry is heading to the University of Nottingham for the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) table tennis individual championships this weekend.

Champions will be decided in men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles at the David Ross Sports Village.

Dan Bullen, Chair of BUCS Table Tennis and tournament director, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming all the university athletes and this year we have the biggest entry we have ever had across all categories.

“We’d also like to thank all the officials who have given up the time to support this event.”

Dan also paid tribute to BUCS stalwarts Mike and Lillian Payne – Mike has now retired as tournament director.
