A place at the Butterfly National School Team Championship Finals is at stake this weekend for hundreds of young players.
More than 100 teams will compete at Blackburn, Bristol or Grantham, having battled through the Zone finals to reach this stage.
There are four age groups – under-11, under-13, under-16 and under-19 – and both boys and girls will be in action as they aim to qualify for the National Finals at WV Active Wolverhampton on April 23 at stake.
Last year saw the first champions crowned since 2020 and several return to have a crack art defending their title.
Among them are St Edward’s Catholic Primary from Westminster, who will be aiming to win for the third competition in a row.
Their senior colleagues from St George’s Catholic School are aiming to retain their under-16 girls’ title, and Heanor Gate are in with a chance of defending the under-19 girls’ crown.
Both under-13 winning schools last year – London Academy girls and Devonport High School for Boys – will step up to the under-16s, while under-16 champions Wallington County Grammar boys move into the under-19s.
