Table Tennis England is delighted to confirm that Emma Vickers will join us as Head of Pathway Development.
Emma will leave her current role as National Lead for Research at the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and join our Performance Team at the beginning of April.
The appointment also means that Emma will step down from the Board of Directors at the end of March and a process to replace Emma on the Board will begin immediately.
Emma, a former senior England international, said: “I’m delighted to be appointed as Head of Pathway Development.
“I hope to take my experience supporting the progression of athletes across various sports in the talent system to build the table tennis pathway, a sport that has been central to my life for the past 25 years.
“Although leaving the Board of Directors is a difficult decision, I am looking forward to collaborating with the operational team to innovate our pathway system to create more opportunities for players to progress from talent to elite.”
The Head of Pathway Development will report into Gavin Evans, who was recently announced as the new Head of Performance Development, as Table Tennis England continues to reset its team and strengthen its determination to develop more players and coaches capable of winning future world and Olympic medals.
