Para table tennis player Craig Allen has been featured in a film highlighting how the SportAid charity supports aspiring athletes as part of their #SportsAidWeek. In the film, Craig’s mum Margaret describes how doctors told her Craig would probably never walk or talk, but after discovering table tennis while on holiday, he has overcome adversity to be ranked 38 in the world in his class in Para Table Tennis.

Coach Ian Scott describes how hard Craig has had to work on his footwork, but how he now ‘plays a very typical high level game that any able-bodied player would be trying to play’.

Craig acknowledges how the support from SportAid has helped him on his journey, enabling him to play extra international matches that would have been difficult for his family to fund. Craig also enjoys coaching, and his aim is to reach the top 20 in the world and the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
