The Senior British League Premier Division returns this Sunday with all title contenders set to play.

The league was split into two mini-divisions after each of the seven teams had played each other once. Ormeau, Ormesby and North Ayrshire (NATTC) made it into the top four, with Urban edging out Fusion in the very final set to secure the last place.

Ormeau, who lost just one of their six ties before the split, will field another strong trio this weekend. Damien Provost, Xavier Dixon and Oriol Monzo will welcome North Ayrshire to Belfast as they look to continue the momentum that took them to the top of the division. Provost has proved a superb signing for the Northern-Irish side, the 2021 French nationals bronze medallist remains unbeaten so far.

North Ayrshire will be without two of their top players, but will hand a Premier Division debut to 17-year-old Jamie Johnson. Younger brother of Martin (pictured), who has featured in every game this season, he was part of the Scottish league winning team. Chris Main will take up the third spot.

The team is testament to their club development, as both Martin and Jamie were discovered by Chris Main at an after-school club. After coaching them for 11 years he’s now set to line up alongside them in a top division fixture. All three hail from the same town, just a few streets away from each other.

In the weekend’s only other fixture Ormesby will look to put pressure on league leaders Ormeau as they travel to Urban TTC. A win for the north-east side would keep them in the title race, with their tie against Ormeau scheduled for the final day of the season on May 20th.

David McBeath, Graeme Barella and Ben Piggott will make up their squad. McBeath will be key to their attempt to retain the title, he’s remarkably picked up four player of the match awards from his five games.

Brighton TTC’s fixture against Fusion has been rearranged to take place on Saturday 6th May.
