Table Tennis England’s Head of Competitions & Events, Neil Rogers, has graduated from the UK Sport Event Leaders Programme.
The programme was set up to enhance the skills, knowledge and leadership of key people across the UK sports landscape to ensure the country is well placed to deliver a host of major sports events over the next decade.
Neil (pictured above) was part of a cohort of 16, comprising event managers and tournament directors from various sports, to complete the inaugural programme, which took around 18 months.
He was nominated and supported to complete the course by Table Tennis England, which has pledged, as part of its Table Tennis United strategy, to stage world-class table tennis events in this country.
Neil said: “The Event Leaders Programme has been a fantastic opportunity which has enabled me to be more self-aware and self-reflective, provided valuable learning opportunities – and practical strategies for developing my leadership skills and capabilities.
“I have also connected with a lot of really good (and really nice!) people within the sector, whom I look forward to continuing to work with in the future.
“I’m grateful to both UK Sport and Table Tennis England for this opportunity.”
Table Tennis England Chief Executive Adrian Christy said: “I would like to add my congratulations to Neil for this tremendous achievement.
“I know how much time Neil will have invested into this programme and to have graduated is testament to his dedication and commitment.”
