These four table tennis players will go to Derbyshire in early June to represent the Isle of Wight in the national finals of the English Leagues Cup Competitions.

The two boys, Ryan Cates and Lewis Johnstone, won the southern England zonal section of the qualifying tournament. The two boys have great potential and are improving all the time.

The two ladies, Anna Joyce and Pat Thorley, were narrowly beaten by Guildford in their section; but they qualify as Guildford are unable to participate.

This is the first time for many years that the Island has four players reaching the national finals. This is a credit to Island table tennis and its coaching system led by Glenn Morley.

For Anna and Pat, this will just be the start of a busy summer of table tennis as, in July, they will both be part of a team of eight Island players who will be participating in the International Island Games, which is being held in Guernsey.
