In recent weeks, the Board of Directors has undertaken an open, formal, publicly advertised and transparent selection process to secure the appointment of a new Chair to replace Sandra Deaton, whose term of office was scheduled to end.

The Board has not been able to secure an appointment and, following a meeting yesterday, has agreed the following action:

• The Nomination Committee will immediately undertake a new search process.
• Sandra Deaton has agreed to extend her tenure while the process is undertaken and will step aside as soon as a suitable candidate has been appointed.

Within the boundaries of respecting confidentiality, we will keep the membership updated as the recruitment process proceeds.
