The wonderful career of Diane Scholer (Rowe) is commemorated on BBC Radio 4’s Last Word programme today, with a contribution by Table Tennis England Centenary Hall of Fame member Mary Wright.
Mary twice won the European Championships Women’s Doubles gold medal alongside Diane and speaks about their partnership and friendship on the programme, which tells the life stories of notable people who have recently died. They are pictured above (Diane on the left).

Diane was one of the legends of the sport, having won a host of World Championships and European Championships medals, among numerous accolades. She died last month at the age of 90.
