Kacper Piwowar (pictured) and Abraham Sellado confirmed their top seeding status in the Europe Youth Series in Dimitrovgrad, Serbia yesterday, as they stormed through to top the Under 13 boys team table after Round 4 without dropping a single match, beating Croatia-Montenegro, North Macedonia, Denmark and Bosnia and Herzegovina, all 3-0.
The match format comprises 2 singles and a doubles, and today the boys face a gruelling five fixtures beginning at 9am, with the final fixture not due to commence until 8:20pm. They face three Serbia teams, Ireland and their nearest rivals Romania, who are just sitting one point behind them on the table.
Due to their success in the team event, England will face Romania in the final on Friday 22nd September at 17:00 GMT.
The boys’ singles campaigns will start on Friday in both the Under 13 and Under 15 categories. Piwowar is seeded at 1 in the U13 and 7 in the U15, Sellado is 2 in the U13 and 9 in the U15.
