Yat Poon will have the chance to win a second successive Grand Prix as the circuit moves on to Preston this weekend.

The Crawley winner is the top seed in the Women’s Singles for the two-day event, which is at the University of Central Lancashire’s Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre.

She is likely to be challenged by England senior internationals Jasmin Wong and Mari Baldwin, who are next in the seedings.

In the Men’s Singles, Crawley champion Mihai Nemacuic is not in the field, but the top three in the seedings are no strangers to Grand Prix success.

Grigory Vlasov is top of the list – he has won several Men’s Singles titles in recent years, including this event last season.

The next two in the seedings are Radoslav Kamberov, who won the Gloucester GP last year, and London champion Toby Ellis, who is on familiar territory as he is from ‘up the road’ in Morecambe.

The competition format, as ever, features banded play on Saturday and a series of age-group competitions on Sunday.
