Isle of Wight twin brothers Ethan and Joseph Millward both reached the final of the Brian Warne Doubles tournament recently; but with different partners.
This tournament, named after a former Island table tennis stalwart, sees the top rated player drawn to partner the lowest rated. This continues in sequence until all players have a partner. 26 players entered this post-Christmas tournament.
Seventeen-year-old twin brothers Ethan and Joseph have both come through the IoW coaching system. The twins (picture above, centre) were drawn to partner veterans Manfred Gelhard (left) and Peter Clarke (right) and it was Ethan with Manfred who were victorious.
Despite the competitive element, the twin brothers were both sporting in victory and defeat.
