One of Ormesby, BATTS, Ormeau and Brighton TTC are just three matches away from the SBL Premier crown. BATTS start favourites to become league champions, having lost just one of their seven fixtures so far this season. Brighton TTC and last season’s runners up Ormesby won five whilst Ormeau secured their spot in the top mini league thanks to the 15 points they picked up throughout the first half of the season.

On Saturday Ormesby will host BATTS, with the travelling side looking to replicate their 5-2 win of a few weeks ago.

The BATTS team of Chris Doran, Ralph Pattison and Luc Miller know a win would leave them in pole position in their bid to win the Premier Division for the first time. They will face a highly talented team of David McBeath, Enio Mendes (pictured above, photo by Chris Rayner) and Sam Mabey.

Brighton TTC will make the journey to Northern Ireland looking to register a second win over Ormeau. The home trio will be hoping to reverse the 5-2 defeat they suffered last time out against the south-coast side.

In the bottom half, with teams playing to avoid relegation, North Ayrshire (NATTC) are set to visit Drumchapel Glasgow whilst TableTennisDaily host Fusion.

Colin Dalgleish, Hugo Torngren and Martin Johnson will line up for NATTC with a large crowd expected to cheer them on.

“We will have a good number of supporters travelling up with the team which will add to the atmosphere” North Ayrshire’s Chris Main explained ahead of the tie.

“It’s been a while since we played Drumchapel at Drumchapel and it’s always a good match when it’s two of Scotland’s top clubs competing against each other. With it being the first match of the split we are hoping to start off with a win.”

The home trio will be made up of Chris Wheeler, Danny Bajwa and Garry Dodd. Wheeler is relishing the challenge that faces the home side, and know they will have plenty of their own support to fall back on.

He said: “It’s great to have another opportunity to play in the Premier Division. It will be a challenge but one that I’m looking forward to. Hopefully with the help of a big crowd at the club on Saturday we can get a result.”

In the day’s other fixture TableTennisDaily (TTD) will play Fusion. The visitors picked up one of their early season victories against TTD, with Lorestas Trumpauskas helping them to a 5-2 win.

Lorestas’ son Larry will hope to pick up the mantle this time around as he will play alongside Josh Bruce and Josh Dye for Fusion.

Callum Evans, Umair Mauthoor and Dan Ives will face the Fusion trio from 2pm at the PingPod in Bristol.

Their team manager Anthony Kent is hoping the team can bounce back from some difficult matches. “We had some really tough matches the last few fixtures, all against teams in the top half of the league” he said.

“Now we have the opportunity against Fusion to get back to winning ways. The team are ready to give their all as we look to finish our first season in the Premier Division on a high.”
