Kacper Piwowar and Max Radiven reached quarter-finals at the WTT Youth Contender Sandefjord in Norway.

Both won their groups in the Under-15 Boys’ Singles and Radiven won his last-32 match to join Piwowar, who had a bye, in the last 16. Also reaching that stage was Adam Alibhai, while Abraham Sellado bowed out in the last 32.

Alibhai went out to the top seed in the round of 16, but Piwowar came from 2-1 down to beat Sigge Hedblad of Sweden 3-2 (8-11, 13-11, 8-11, 11-9, 11-7), while Radiven overcame Poland’s Oleg Stefanowicz in three.

Both were knocked out in the quarter-finals – Radiven by third seed Jan Mrugala of Poland and Piwowar by Chen Yi-Jui of Chinese Taipei, who went on to reach the final.

Sienna Jetha reached the last 16 in the girls’ draw, seeing opponent Siri Benjegard of Sweden, ranked just a few places below her in the world junior list, come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 (5-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-4).

In the Under-17s, Jetha also saw a 2-0 lead overturned by a Swedish opponent as she lost in a decider to the lower-ranked Betty Engstrom.

Rohan Dani reached the last 16 of the boys’ draw, going out to top seed Wassim Essid of Tunisia, who went on to reach the final.

Sellado and Piwowar went out in the last 32 to higher-ranked opponents, while Alibhai and Radiven exited in the last 64.

In the Under-19 Boys’ Singles, Dani and Connor Green both went through to the knockout stage but neither could get past the last 32, Dani going out to ninth seed Borna Petek of Croatia and Green to Isak Alfredsson of Sweden – who is ranked 34 places below him at No 121 on the junior list, but who went on to win the competition.
