Twenty two under-16 players took part in a tournament hosted by Horris Hill School on 8^th June.

This was the first time this event has taken place and followed enthusiastic participation in the junior sections of the annual Newbury Closed Tournament. A follow up event was organised to provide another opportunity for these players and others from the Newbury and surrounding area to enjoy more competitive table tennis.

In addition to a sizeable contingent from Horris Hill School, there were players from schools in Newbury, Thatcham and Woolton Hill, including great support from Kennet School.

Singles and doubles competitions were enjoyed by all and played in a great spirit with a supportive audience. The success of this has prompted discussions about holding more events and widening the scope to other schools.
