The Isle of Wight Summer League has just concluded, with 21 pairs of all ages and abilities entering the popular handicapped tournament, which is played from early May until the end of July.
The winners were the Thorny Dwellers – Alex Rorke (a stalwart of IoW table tennis) and newcomer Albie Yeung (pictured above).
The runners-up were the Blades of Fury – Robin Clegg & Steve Laing, again relative newcomers to IoW table tennis (pictured below).
It was good to see two promising 12-year-olds, Theo Lewis and Thane Taylor, attain third place in the event. These are two to watch for the future.
The Isle of Wight now has a two-month break from competitive table tennis until the Winter League starts in early October.
