Thanet Vikings Table Tennis Club was founded in September 2016 following on from a series of successful pilot coaching sessions run by local TTE coaches at Ursuline School, Margate.

The purpose and aim of the club is for more young people to become involved in a great sport and to provide a friendly safe environment for table tennis players of all ages and abilities to play in Thanet.

Over the years the club has grown and gone from strength to strength, and we have players of all levels ranging from 7 years to 87 years of age.  Some of our juniors have been with us since the initial forming of the club. Currently we run lively fun beginner sessions for youngsters as well as advanced training sessions for our better players and we also have practice/bat and chat social sessions for all ages and abilities.

Two years ago, we ran a successful TTKidz program and have retained some of these players who are now playing in our local league. We enter teams into National Junior League and have players who represent Kent County plus two of our girls (one who has been with us since she was 8 years) will be competing in British Junior League. Many of our junior and senior players regularly participate in TTE ranking tournaments.

On a slightly different note, we had several coaches invited to a Care Home for an afternoon to demonstrate and help the residents to play table tennis. The afternoon was deemed a big success by the residents and the coaches found it very rewarding. We have also loaned equipment to support local charity events.
