Funded through Sport England’s New Movement Fund
The new Bristol Table Tennis Academy opened its doors on the 4th September 24 at SGS College, offering a community coaching programme for juniors and adults in the Filton and surrounding areas of Bristol.
They are aiming to teach and educate the local community, helping both juniors and adults learn and develop their skills in table tennis while keeping active. The club will operate a number of programmes, with sessions initially taking place on Wednesday evenings at SGS College. Additionally, the club are looking to run some “Bat and Chat” sessions around Bristol and will have teams competing in both National and Local competitions to support players in reaching their full potential.
The project is being led by Nick Davidson a level 3 licensed coach with Table Tennis England together with a number of other high-level coaches.
The club have put together a full programme and have successfully secured a grant from the Sport England movement fund for just over £4800. This funding will be crucial in ensuring the success and growth of the Academy.
Spaces are currently available for junior players who are starting out and looking to develop their skills in the sport. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Nick Davidson at [email protected].
