Table Tennis England is delighted to announce the appointment of Sally Lockyer as its new Chief Executive Officer following a competitive recruitment process.

Sally brings a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning 25 years in the sports industry across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

Currently the CEO of the Surrey FA, Sally has previously held senior roles at the British Athletes Commission, Commonwealth Games and numerous World Championship events. She has also worked with the Champions League, Juventus, AC Milan and Fulham Football Clubs alongside global sports brands such as Nike, Kappa and Lotto.

Sally also served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Triathlon England from 2013 to 2022 where she was a long-standing member of the organization’s strategy working group. Additionally she was a Sported Business Mentor providing business support to community sports organizations to help them reach and improve the lives of disadvantaged young people.

Sally commented, “I’m delighted to be joining Table Tennis England at such a pivotal moment for the sport. With the World Team Table Tennis Championships in London in 2026 and the Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics just around the corner, it’s an exciting time and I’m ready to seize the opportunities ahead.

“I am grateful to the Table Tennis England Board, Sport England and UK Sport for the opportunity to lead the National Governing Body at such an exciting phase of growth and evolution. Under Nick and Adrian’s leadership, TTE has built strong foundations and shown itself to be a progressive governing body with a clear strategic direction and I am excited to start driving accelerated growth and sustainability.

“I aim to bring my experience in wider sports, leisure, commercial and major events sectors to TTE. I look forward to working with the team and Board and collaborating with members, partners and stakeholders as well as international partners so that together we can drive the growth, profile and sustainability of the sport to even greater heights.”

Her outstanding leadership at Surrey FA combined with her experience at Triathlon England in particular will be of great value as we further focus our efforts on growing both the formal and more contemporary formats of our great sport and delivering Table Tennis United.”

Sally will start her new role as the Table Tennis England CEO on 16 December 2024.
