This month I thought I would write a little about what your club can expect from collaborating with the Area Manager for the South East.

I have nearly 20 years experience in Sports Devbelopment and have worked across a number of national governing bodies including working on maximising potential for clubs during the Commonwealth Games and Rugby World Cup in 2015.

So what does this mean for your club? Well with the enormous opportunity our sport has in the next couple of years, we need to start to plan now if we are going to make the most of things!

Does your club need to recruit more volunteers – I can help creat a volunteer recruitment and recognition programme to boost numbers.

Does your club need funding – lets discuss the options open for grant funding availabel. I can help find funding pots, and work on how you present your club in the best way to increase success.

Does your club need players – well lets discuss building a recruitment plan!

Given all of the above, I have some focus areas that aree essential for maximising potential. Youth players especially in schools is a huge priority for me. Not just getting bats into childrens hands, but making sure they get the chance to fall in love with the sport and then want to find their nearest club to continue that love affair.

Our revamped and relaunched TT Kidz programme is such a boost to the sport. This will enhance any club coaching programme you have in place and will provide the consistency that will allow the great coaches in the sport to build skills and grow talent from an early age. Take a look at the webinar where Jenny Leach launched the new programme – sign up and lets get more kids enjoying table tennis more often https://youtu.be/OjUAHzpvNlU

Helping the people in society who have the least opportunity to enjoy sport is also vital, so anything I can do to increase access to sport for people with health issues, (both physical and mental), minority groups who find it difficult to play sport in a safe environment, people with access considerations and how we can improve the experience for wheelchair users and other with accessibility requirements. Finally, and not least, how we can get more women and girls enjoying our sport!

The other area I am passioante about is coaching and how we can help coaches grow to deliver great expereinces for our players. I am a Level 3 Coach Mentor and Educator and am looking for venues to run some coaching CPDs. Please let me know if your club could accomodate such a thing!
