The Limpsfield Club competition events are becoming known for being well run, friendly and with no long waits between rounds of play and provide great facilities for parents, coaches and spectators to enjoy with a bar on hand to provide hot and cold drinks and food throughout the day while supporting.

After holding many successful junior and senior 1 Star tournaments for the past 2 years at The Limpsfield, the club has added to its list of events providing excellent opportunities for young players to enjoy suitable competition in a great environment.

Saturday 2nd November, we welcomed a full entry to The Limpsfield Club for our Mini Cadet & Cadet Open. Where for the first time we held an U11 event and a Girls only U15 event. Both the U11 event and Girls U15 were keenly contested and of a high standard.

In the U11’s, top seed Reyaan Singh came through his group in first place despite losing a match to Oliver Wills and just pipping Liam Higgins 11-6 in the fifth. Ethan Collins, 2nd seed came through his group with relative ease.

The semi-finals Saw Reyaan and Ethan win 3-0 and they both went on to contest a close final with Ethan coming out the winner 11-9, 11-7, 13-11.

The consolation final was a rematch from a previous game in the group and this time Oliver Willis coming out on top over Liam Higgins 11-4, 11-5, 11-3.

In the U15 girls top seed Sienna Svoboda came through comfortably with Estelle Domingo coming back from 2 games down against Anaiyah Tan to win in the fifth to finish 2nd and go through to the semi-finals. Shnaya Singh the second seed made it safely through to the semi-finals along with Sathika Liyanage in second place who had a tight match with Saskia Svoboda winning 11-9 in the fifth.

The semi-finals saw Sienna come from 2 games to 1 down to win in the fifth against Sathika. Shinaya was pegged back from 2 games up against Estelle but manged to win the fifth game comfortably. Sienna went on to win the final 3 -0.

It was great to see both these new events well attended, played at a high level and some players playing in their first ever tournament gaining valuable experience and mixing it with higher level players.

The U13 event saw the top 4 seeds Benjamin Willis, Joshua Freeman, Reyaan Singh and Ethan Collins who had 2 very close matches with Oliver Willis and Anayah Tan to make it to the quarter finals. Hugo Brock had good win over Isabella Xu to take second place in his group and a place in the quarter finals along with other second places Liam Joseph Vaughan, Freddie Catherall & Luis Archard.

The semi-finals saw Joshua Freeman having a tight battle with Ethan Collins who eventually came out on top 12-14, 11-4, 17-15, 11-8. Benjamin Willis came through his semi 3-0 over Reyaan Singh. The final was won by Benjamin 3-0 who always looked in control.

The consolation Final was a close battle between Oliver Willis and Teddy Hunt. Oliver came out the winner in 4 games.

The U15 singles all top 4 seeds made it safely through Benjamin Willis, Aarav Pahwa, Louis Green and Sienna Svoboda and 2nd places to make the quarter final line up were Luis Archard, Leo Gardner and Robin Wan who came through with an 11-9 win the fifth against Shnaya Sethi. Benjamin Willis and Aarav Pahwa safely navigated their way to the final where after the first 2 games going 1 a piece 11-4, Aarav went on to win the next 2 games 11-7 and 14-12.

The U15 Consolation Singles was contested by Rory Smith and Danny Abdalla after they both had very close matches in previous rounds with Danny coming out on top 14-12, 11-6 & 11-5.

 This brought our tournament to an end, with the whole day running smoothly and keeping to time.

Our next events are an U19 and U21 event on November 23rd and U13, U15 and U17 event on December 14th for which we only have spaces left in the U17 category.

Our first event next year will be another Senior Open which includes men’s, ladies and over 50’s singles on February 22nd. Followed by U17 and U19 on March 2nd and U13, u15 & U17 on 5th April. All of which entries are already beginning to come in for these events.
