Ormeau could lay down a marker in the Senior British Clubs League, Championship division as we reach the ‘pivot weekend’ in Nottingham.

The Ulster club moved to the top of the table with a perfect weekend of four wins from four last time out and currently stand a point clear of BATTS II and Perry Dale.

But that could change when they meet Perry Dale in the ninth and final round of matches in the first half of the season, on Saturday morning.

The tie could also feature one or more clashes between some of the top players in the averages – Ormeau’s Mat Ware won eight out of eight on Weekend 2 to go top of the pile on 100%, while his team-mate Jonathan Mooney has won 14/16 across both weekends, the same 87.5% ratio as Parry Dale’s Max Radiven. They occupy joint third in the averages, with Wymondham’s Israel Awolaja in second with a 100% rate from four matches.

There is also an interesting match-up between hosts Nottingham and Wymondham – both clubs are on eight points but will be keen to keep looking up the table, rather than over their shoulders. Wymondham in particular will want to revive their season, having led the table after Weekend 1 but fallen to sixth on the back of a difficult second weekend.

This third weekend features just two matches per team as Saturday afternoon sees the first ties of the second half of the season.

Ormeau will face Urban, who themselves were unbeaten on Weekend 2 as three wins and a draw moved them from bottom to fifth.

Perry Dale meet Ormesby II on Saturday afternoon, while second-placed BATTS, who meet Milton Keynes in the morning, are up against Woodford Wells in the afternoon.
