Fusion will have their eyes on unseating defending Premier Division champions Drumchapel Glasgow when the Women’s British Clubs League drama resumes this weekend.

With five fixtures across the weekend at WV Active Wolverhampton, there are sure to be plenty of highlights, celebrations and commiserations before the title is decided come Sunday afternoon.

Drumchapel versus Fusion is slated in the final round of matches, so there is plenty of scope for things to change before then, but Drumchapel know their destiny is in their own hands.

With a one-point lead at the top, they know five victories will see them raise the trophy once again, as they did in 2024.

The Scottish side also have the memory of victory over 2023 champions Fusion to fall back on – they won 4-2 when the teams met at the first weekend in November.

In fact, 4-2 was a common scoreline for Drumchapel as they won their first four matches by that margin before the only blemish on their weekend came with a 3-3 draw against Ormesby in the final round.

The fact that they had to work hard every time will also serve as a reminder that the Premier Division is highly competitive, and every club has players who can hurt the opposition.

Realistically, Fusion are the only club who can topple Drumchapel, though a perfect weekend for third-placed Draycott, who are two points behind Fusion, would catapult them into contention. But having won three and lost two in November, that sort of performance would require a step up.

A total of 43 teams are in action in seven divisions, with different clubs leading every division after Weekend 1.

Division 6 is the tightest, with a three-way tie at the top, while Joola Plymouth (Division 1), Cippenham (Division 2), Greenhouse (Division 3) and Graham Spicer II (Division 5) all boasted 100% records at the first weekend.
