Gavin Evans, Head of Performance Development, has issued a ‘thank you’ to all who have provided vital feedback ahead of the Coaching Strategy Implementation Plan, which will be advancing to the Table Tennis England Board in November.

Gavin has previously explained the importance of revolutionising the structure of table tennis coaching in England, helping us to deliver a key pledge of Table Tennis United.

The review of the coaching strategy will focus on continual development and improvement for our coaches, recognising areas of excellence and celebrating individual strengths.

After several listening exercises, the team have now formed an Implementation Plan that will go to the board in November. Once this has been approved, the team will be able to focus on the details and put these into action ahead of the launch of the new Coaching Strategy in 2025.

Gavin was thankful to all of those who have played their part in the strategy review when we caught up with our Head of Performance at the recent European Championships in Austria – “I just want to thank everybody who has been involved in the creation of the Implementation Plan, over 150 coaches have been spoken to, internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, we have really listened to all of their feedback, valued this and learnt a lot from it. Watch this space, it won’t be long before we really start to boom”.

His statement of ‘starting to boom’ has come to light already on the international stage in terms of performance, just 3 months into the 24/25 season. Most recently, Tin Tin Ho convincingly dispatching Europe’s 7th seed, also having 3 WTT titles secured, amongst other impressive results on the World stage, demonstrating the hard work going in at the England Training Centre, Sheffield from both players and the supporting staff.
