Spectacular table tennis returns to Manchester with WTT Feeder Manchester 2025!
Fans can look forward to exciting international and home-grown talent competing from 24-27 April 2025.
Table Tennis England is partnering with World Table Tennis (WTT) and Manchester City Council to bring WTT Feeder Manchester 2025 back to the National Cycling Centre, where the hugely successful inaugural WTT Feeder Manchester was played in February this year.
Following its success, which saw more than 2,000 fans in attendance, the upcoming event promises another fantastic opportunity to witness emerging rising stars of the sport.
In addition, the first edition of WTT Feeder Manchester saw Table Tennis England and the City Council work together to establish the highly popular Ping Hub in the Great Northern Warehouse, where thousands of people have enjoyed playing table tennis in the heart of the city.
WTT Feeder Manchester 2025 will enable us to build on that success and continues our strategy to bring major events to England both before and after London hosts the 2026 centenary World Team Table Tennis Championships.
Table Tennis England Chief Executive Adrian Christy said: “We’re delighted that WTT Feeder Manchester returns to this sport-mad city in 2025.
“As we continue with the exciting growth of our major event series, and the increased visibility this will bring to table tennis in this country, I would like to say a huge thanks to WTT and to Manchester for their continued support.
“The staging of events also enables us to engage local communities and the success of the WTT Feeder Manchester earlier this year can be seen every day at the Ping Hub established in the Great Northern Warehouse in the city, where we have seen thousands of local people try table tennis for the first time or return to the sport. We hope the 2025 event will inspire many more.”
Councillor John Hacking, Executive Member for Skills, Employment and Leisure, Manchester City Council, said: “Manchester has a long-standing tradition of supporting table tennis. Our city first hosted the Commonwealth Games table tennis event in 2002 at the now renamed Manchester Tennis & Football Centre on the Etihad Campus.
“Earlier this year, we once again welcomed table tennis, with the first edition of WTT Feeder Manchester, leading to the establishment of the highly popular Ping Hub in the Great Northern Warehouse.
“As a renowned global city of sport, we’re thrilled to host world-class table tennis players once again, especially with so many home nations to cheer on. This event also aligns with our goal of increasing table tennis participation.
“By bringing this exciting competition back to Manchester, we’re continuing our efforts to inspire Mancunians to move more, seeing all ages and abilities play this accessible and inclusive sport. With tables now popping up across our parks, leisure centres, and communities throughout the city.”
WTT Feeder Manchester 2025 will feature singles and doubles competitions and will begin with qualifying rounds on Thursday 24 April, followed by three days of competition in the main draws, concluding with the Finals on Sunday, 27 April.
“Manchester has proven to be an excellent host for WTT events, and we’re excited to continue building on that momentum,” said Jonny Cowan, WTT Europe General Manager.
“WTT Feeder Series events are vital in the global table tennis ecosystem, offering developing players a chance to showcase their skills and progress in their careers. We’re looking forward to another exciting event in 2025, as we continue to provide platforms that drive the sport forward, and engage with passionate fans and local communities alike.”
Fans can look forward to updates on ticket sales, live streaming, volunteering opportunities and more in the coming weeks.
