Archway Peterborough will play in two of the three SBL Premier Division fixtures this weekend as they finally get their season underway.
They will firstly welcome Fusion TTC on Saturday before Urban TTC make the trip north on Sunday. Darius Knight, who joined the club earlier this year, Callum Evans (Wales number 1) and Jordan Wykes (Jersey number 1) will be in action for Archway on both Saturday and Sunday.
Fusion’s trusty duo of Lorestas Trumpauskas and Robert Pelc have so far featured in both their fixtures. They bounced back from an opening defeat against North Ayrshire to beat BATTS 5-2. Gabrielius Camara, who has impressed on the junior scene, will make up the Fusion three.
Urban TTC are looking for their first victory of the campaign after they were beaten by a strong Ormeau trio in their opening tie. The team has one eye on the next generation, giving younger members of the squad an opportunity to gain some valuable Premier Division experience. All three of Saturday’s squad, Alim Hirji, Matuesz Mikosz and James Hamblett, have come through the Urban TTC coaching setup, something the club is incredibly proud of.
BATTS are also searching for a first win of the league as they take on Ormesby in the only other match on Saturday. The incredibly talented Bennett brothers, Jack and Josh, are part of the BATTS squad with number two under-21 Shayan Siraj and Ethan Walsh adding extra experience to the team.
Ormesby comfortably beat North Ayrshire 6-1 in their opening fixture. They will make one change from that team as Thomas Rayner replaces Ryan Jenkins. He will be joined by Helshan Weerasinghe and Sam Mabey.
You can watch all three fixtures live across the weekend. Archway Peterborough will stream both matches on their Facebook page.
