Mari Baldwin came closest to reaching the main draw at the WTT Youth Contender Szombathely in Hungary, but missed out in a three-way countback.

Baldwin was beaten by Indian opponent Tanneesha Kotecha 3-0 in her first under-19 group match but recovered to beat Dorina Hudak of the host nation 3-1 in her second.

With Hudak beating Kotecha 3-2, it went to countback and Baldwin was the one to miss out as the other two went through to the knockouts.

In the other age groups, Sienna Jetha picked up a victory in the under-13s, but there was no further joy on the table for her, Naomi Coker (pictured above) or Bethany Ellis.
