Bankfields Primary School, featuring six youngsters who started their table tennis journeys with TT Kidz, are our media competition winners after a superb run to the Butterfly National Schools Team Finals by both girls’ and boys’ teams earned local TV and radio coverage.

The school featured at the finals weekend last month and finished as the fourth-best school in the country in both gender categories.

Their exploits in reaching the finals were covered by the local BBC TV news programme, as well as on the Zetland FM radio station (as pictured above).

Teams and individuals which play in the Butterfly National Schools Competitions are challenged to secure media coverage in their local areas, and the judges decided Bankfields had secured the most impressive coverage. They win a TeesSport voucher.

Thanks to all those who entered the competition and generated some great coverage across the printed and online media.

Six of the eight players across the two Bankfields teams began their table tennis journeys in our TT Kidz programme.
