Become a Tournament Organiser This Autumn

Over the next year, table tennis in the capital is going to be huge — with the major events on the horizon, using this wave of excitement to build a solid infrastructure for the future will be key to build a legacy.

To keep this momentum going, encouraging passionate people to step forward and help run events is key.

This November, Table Tennis England is running a Technical Officials – Tournament Organiser Course — and it could be your first step into a hugely rewarding role.

Why Become a Tournament Organiser?

Behind every successful competition is a team of dedicated people ensuring everything runs smoothly. Tournament Organisers are at the heart of this — planning events, booking venues, recruiting volunteers, and delivering competitions to the highest standard.

Right now, there’s a real opportunity to grow the number of qualified organisers in London. More trained officials mean more events, more playing opportunities, and a stronger table tennis community.

What the Course Covers

This course is designed for anyone who’s keen to get involved — whether you’re completely new or have helped at events before. It will give you:

  • A solid understanding of the Regulations of Competitions
  • Practical guidance on planning and delivering tournaments
  • Templates, forms and resources to make organising easier
  • Tips from experienced officials who’ve done it all before

It’s a friendly and supportive introduction, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and build confidence.

Why It Matters

Getting qualified as a Tournament Organiser is about more than learning the rules. It’s about:

  • Creating better events for players and spectators
  • Empowering local clubs to host their own competitions
  • Building your own skills in leadership, organisation and communication
  • Strengthening the table tennis scene in London

When we have more organisers, we can offer more tournaments — and give more people the chance to play.

Get Involved This November

The course takes place in November, and places are limited — so if you’re interested, now’s the time to register.
