In June’s East Area blog, I highlighted that exciting opportunities were being worked upon within the area and I’m happy to announce that a couple of these initiatives will be launching in the next few weeks and are due to come to fruition.
Firstly, Table Tennis England have engaged with Active Norfolk and Special Olympics GB to deliver an Inclusive Table Tennis Festival at the Norman Centre in Norwich on Monday 30th September between 10am and 12pm. It is hoped that following the conclusion of the festival, a regular opportunity to engage with disability groups can be developed to support the growth of the game in this part of the area.
In addition to the work being undertaken in Norwich, Table Tennis England have been working closely alongside Matchpoint TTC in Hullbridge, Essex to develop a female only TT Kidz programme for 7 to 11 years. The programme will run for a period of 8 weeks, starting in October. In terms of specific details, these can be found below by clicking on the link:
The aim of the programme is to help support the development of junior women and girls, in line with Table Tennis England’s commitment to ensuring more women and girls play the sport.
For more information on any of the initiatives above, please feel free to get in touch with me.
As always, yours in Table Tennis
