On Monday 30th September, we had the great pleasure in the East region of hosting our first ‘Inclusive Table Tennis’ festival in Norwich, run in conjunction with Active Norfolk and local organisations that support individuals with a variety of different disabilities in and around Norfolk.
The festival, held at the Norman Centre in Norwich, was a great success with 23 participants taking part from across 4 different organisations.
In our East area LDP and as part of establishing a competition calendar for the area, the development of an Inclusive Table Tennis Festival in conjunction with Active Norfolk and a range of local partners has been a key target and I’m so happy that we’ve managed to deliver this and it have such a profound effect.
I would like to reserve thanks to Ellen at Active Norfolk and also the staff from the Assist Trust, Pathways College, Sense and the Stepping Stones project for developing this opportunity.
Due to the success of the festival in September, 3 new opportunities have been arranged at the Norman Centre in 2025 – watch this space for further details in the new year
