Following the visit of English players with Parkinson’s to Japan earlier this year, ParkyPING! hosted a reciprocal event ParkySMASH! at the Great Northern Ping Hub on 7th September. The tournament brought together over 30 participants from across the UK, along with three players who travelled from Japan to take part.
Supported by Parkinson’s UK, the event featured Women’s Singles, Open Singles and Mixed Doubles competitions. Organiser Rob Cook, founder of ParkyPING! in Leeds, described the day as a resounding success: “It was a marvellous day, great to bring players with Parkinsons together for such an event, we’ve had lots of feedback about how much people enjoyed the day.”
