Now the Olympics are underway it’s been great to see lots of clubs embracing this and having Olympic themed events.

On a personal note about the Olympics it has been really rewarding to support Nico Caltabiano on his umpiring journey over the past few years. Although he is not from the West Area, he often umpires here at WBL and JBL’s.  Nico managed to be selected to umpire the Men’s final at the Games which will no doubt be the highlight of his umpiring career.

While most lots of clubs and leagues take a short break this month the West Area Organising Group have been hard at work and are currently planning a 1 star Under11’s competition and a 1 star Women And Girls competition due to be played later this year. More dates and details to follow.
