The Premier Division is just two rounds from its conclusion and you can barely separate Brighton and Ormesby at the top. With each side having lost just one match from seven the margins are so tight. Remarkably Brighton have dropped just nine sets all season compared to Ormesby’s 14, and by that difference they sit atop the six-team league.

The two will meet on the last day of the campaign and as things stand we’re heading for a final-day decider. A winner takes all fixture that would send the trophy to either the South Coast or North-East.

It was business as usual for Brighton who swept aside BATTS a day after Ormesby had beaten Fusion. It was the fourth time they have recorded a 7-0 scoreline this season, emphasising just how strong a squad they possess.

Fusion are battling to avoid bottom spot, and their 5-2 defeat at the hands of last year’s runners up means they remain in a battle with Drumchapel Glasgow to avoid last position.

North Ayrshire bagged Scottish bragging rights in the other round eight tie to take place after exacting revenge on Scottish counterparts Drumchapel Glasgow. In doing so they took a huge stride towards ensuring they’ll avoid bottom spot in the league.

It’s a quick turnaround for all teams as they are back in action this month. Ormesby as they welcome BATTS to the North East on 19th April. Drumchapel Glasgow will then travel to Brighton on 26th April, as Fusion are set to host North Ayrshire.

Should Brighton and Ormesby come through unbeaten it means their meeting on 17th May will decide the league. For the chasing pack there are plenty of positions still to play for. BATTS third place is under pressure from North Ayrshire and the bottom two teams of Fusion and Drumchapel Glasgow will both be hoping to register their second wins of the season.

Results:

Brighton 7-0 BATTS

Fusion 2-5 Ormesby

North Ayrshire 5-2 Drumchapel Glasgow
