Round seven in the Senior British Clubs League Premier Division wraps up this weekend with Ormesby travelling to North Ayrshire hoping to extend their unbeaten run.

The north-east side have come out on top of all six of their fixtures so far, including a crucial victory against title rivals Brighton. They have been in imperious form, with David McBeath and Benjamin Piggott leading the way having dropped just one game each from their combined 18 singles matches. Jose Enio Mendes (pictured, photo by Michael Loveder), should he feature, will be looking to add to his two player of the match awards.

North Ayrshire know a win will separate them from the bottom three. A victory on Saturday would pull them above Fusion and Drumchapel Glasgow, however they will have their work cut out. In the reverse fixture at the beginning of the campaign they were roundly beaten 7-0. They have however grown into the season since then, and a home fixture is sure to give them an extra lift.

Both other round seven fixtures were completed on Saturday 1st March. Brighton kept up their challenge for the title as they beat Fusion 6-1. Whilst that sounds a comfortable scoreline it was anything but. Three games needed a deciding set, with Fusion unable to capitalise on their opportunities to snatch a win.

Elsewhere BATTS swept past Drumchapel to keep their title dreams just about alive. A whitewash showed their title potential, but they will realistically need to win all of their remaining games to have a chance.

With the chasing pack keeping up the pressure, Ormesby have it all to do this weekend. You can watch them at North Ayrshire live on the North Ayrshire Table Tennis Club YouTube channel.
