Chris Doran and home favourite Hannah Silcock were the singles champions at the Jersey Satellite Grand Prix, held over the Easter weekend.
It was a seventh Jersey title for Doran, while Silcock was winning for the second time.
Doran (pictured above) won the Men’s Singles final against Radoslav Kamberov 3-0 (8, 8, 8), having defeated Nahom Asgedom 3-1 (11-3, 6-11, 11-9, 11-3) in the semi-finals. Kamberov’s semi-final saw him shake off Danny Bajwa 3-2 (7-11, 11-9, 12-10, 8-11, 11-5).
The Women’s Singles was a close match up as Silcock prevailed 3-2 (5-11, 13-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6) against Binyu Zhao in the final.
In the semi-finals, Silcock had knocked out Meige Wang in four and Zhao beat Wei Wei Lu, also in four.

In the under-21 events, Silcock made it a double by winning the round-robin event, with Anaiya Ali in second place – the score between them was 3-0 (6, 7, 7) to Silcock. The men’s winner was Gabriel Schogger, who defeated Ching Jay Law 3-0 (11-7, 11-8, 11-4).
The Restricted (21-40) winner was Ho Yin Tan, who overcame Owen Brown in a hard-fought final by a 3-1 (14-16, 11-7, 14-12, 12-10) margin.
The Veterans’ champion was Zayd Mauthoor, who beat Bhanureka Sabaratnam 3-0 (11-5, 11-7, 11-3) in the final.
Banded events
Meige Wang was the Women’s Band 1 winner, as she defeated Binyu Zhao and Alisha Khalid in the round-robin event – the score against Zhao was 3-2 (11-6, 4-11, 10-12, 11-3, 11-9).
Men’s Band 1 was won by Umair Mauthoor, who beat Ho Yin Tan 3-1 (11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 11-6) in the final, but Restricted champion Tan did manage to claim a double over the weekend as he took Men’s Band 2, beating Munib Ahmad 3-0 (11-5 ,11-5, 11-4) in the final.
The corresponding women’s event was won by Lis Maria Pardo, who won the round-robin event ahead of Aneta Kula, whom she defeated 3-0 (11-4, 11-8, 11-8). She also won Women’s Band 3, beating the same opponent in the final, this time by a score of 3-1 (11-4, 9-11, 11-8, 11-4).
Roari Rowan was also a double winner, taking both Men’s Band 3 and Men’s Band 4, beating Zayd Mauthoor 3-0 (11-6, 11-1, 11-9) in the former and Theo De Poerk 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-8) in the latter.
Women’s Band 4 went to Polina Shcherbakova, who finished ahead of Freya Allaway in the round-robin event. The match between the top two was 3-2 (11-7, 8-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-6) in the champion’s favour.
Oscar Karwowski won Men’s Band 5, beating Oliver Smeeth 3-0 (14-12, 11-9, 11-7) in the final, but he was unable to make it a double as he was defeated 3-1 (11-5, 11-7, 9-11, 11-0) by William Cornthwaite in the Men’s Band 6 final.
