About Be TT

Be TT is an enhanced club and league development programme that will provide our most forward-thinking clubs greater support.

Be TT is a Table Tennis England support programme for affiliated clubs and leagues, designed to build better experiences across our sport.

Led by extensive research and data from playing habits across the country, the programme allows Table Tennis England staff to work closely with clubs and leagues to improve the experience of those who play, coach, volunteer, or officiate in our sport.

Be TT was launched in 2017 and has already provided some of our most forward-thinking clubs and leagues the chance to receive focused staff support and trial exciting new club management and data tools.

What is available to me as part of Be TT?

Grant Funding: Our Be TT grant scheme is now closed for 2018. So far in the first two rounds of funding grants since 2017 we have supported more than 80 different clubs and leagues. Based on insight gathered from Year 1, Year 2 of the programme has focused on three main priority areas:

  • Women and Girls participation
  • Developing alternative competition formats
  • Adult Coaching

Insight Guides and Case studies: A series of good practice guides on topics including short format leagues, customer experience and women and girls’ participation. In the future we hope to release more good practice guides based on our learnings from Be TT. There are also case studies of successful Be TT projects to date.

Products and Programmes: We will shortly be releasing a number of products to help our clubs and leagues deliver a great experience to players of all ages. The first of these products is our Bat and Chat programme, which gives guidance and marketing materials on how to successfully launch and run a session aimed at over-55s. As well as this we are also developing a Youth Product (name to be confirmed), which will provide clubs with a way of recruiting and retaining new members aged 7-11, and a ‘Back to Table Tennis’ product aimed at those returning to the game.

Our Bat and Chat product is now ready for use by leagues and PremierClubs free of charge, with a small fee for associate clubs.
