Return to Play Funding

Guidance and support on applying for one of the three strands of the Sport England return to play fund.

In October 2020, Sport England launched a new £16.5m fund to support the return to play of sports organisations. The fund is made up of 3 strands; Return to Play Small Grants, Community Asset Fund and an ‘Active Together’ crowdfunding initiative.

To date (July 2021), more than 82 table tennis Clubs and organisations delivering table tennis have accessed more than £446,321 of Sport England funding between them. On 4th February 2021, Table Tennis England hosted a webinar to provide an introduction to the ‘Return to Play Small Grant’. The webinar is available to view below.

Also on this page, you can find a PDF hints and tips guide, and video from a club which has been successful in their applications.

The Return to Play Small Grant is set to be open until 31 December 2021, and provides grants of £300-£10,000.

Sport England particularly encourage applications from organisations working with communities who’ve suffered worse health outcomes and the most significantly reduced activity levels as a result of the pandemic. e.g. girls and women, young people aged 16-24 and older people aged 70+. More information about the scheme can be found by clicking here.

Table Tennis England are able to offer support and guidance to Clubs and Leagues with their applications. Please contact [email protected] or PremierClubs can contact their Club Support Officer directly. Missed a Club Webinar? Catch up here.
