Dimitrov produced some outstanding performances in the group stages, defeating Croatia’s Simun Milosevic 3-0, Bulgaria’s Yoan Georgiev 3-1, Greece’s Theofanis Markoulakis 3-1, and Kazakhstan’s Dagir Daniyarov 3-0.

This sent Dimitrov straight into the semi finals after receiving a bye at the quarter final stage where he defeated Poland’s Ignacy Utylski 3-0, an opponent he had also beaten last week in Otocec in the group stages.

The final was a one-sided affair sadly, with Campagna of Italy winning in straight sets and Dimitrov only managing to take 14 points off his opponent, but Dimitar can hold his head high for reaching yet another final and for building upon his performances last week where he narrowly missed out on the final in the same level event in Otocec, Slovenia when he was defeated 3-2 by Montenegro’s Milan Vucetic.

Dimitrov exited the Under-13s competition in Varaždin in the Round of 16.

In the other events in Varaždin, Max Radiven made a charge in the Under-15 boys singles reaching the quarter finals, where, despite a late comeback in the match, ended up losing 3-1 to Jonas Rinderer of Germany. Rinderer had defeated Kacper Piwowar in the Round of 16, while Abraham Sellado bowed out against another German, Alexander Uhing.

Connor Green also reached the Round of 16 in the Under-19s, losing a close encounter to Divyansh Srivastava of India.

In Otocec, where the girls’ events are taking place this week, Tianer Yu reached the Round of 32 in both the Under-19s and Under-17s, while Hannah Saunders reached the quarter final stage in the Under-13s age category.
