Teams shall consist of two players listed in order of ranking. Teams may be representative of an organization or two players teaming up specifically for the event. Substitution of unavailable players by those ranked lower will be allowed on the day.
Match format: Player 1 (Team A) v Player 1 (Team B); Player 2 (Team A) v Player 2 (Team B); if match score is 1:1 then a deciding match shall be played. In the first (group) stage this shall be between the winners of the first two matches; in all other stages this shall be between the losers of the first two matches.
Stage 1: teams shall be drawn into groups of three.
Stage 2: first placed teams play off (A) with winners progressing into top 8 section of the draw; second placed teams play off (B); third placed teams play off (C) with losers progressing into bottom 8 section.
Stage 3: losers of matches (A) play off against winners of matches (B) with winners progressing into the top 8 section, losers progressing into the middle 8 section; losers of matches (B) play off against winners of matches (C) with winners progressing into middle 8 section, losers progressing into bottom 8 section.
Stage 4: winners and losers of matches play a progressive knock-out competition; the result is a complete rating from 1 to 24 with each team having played either 6 or 7 matches (assuming full entry of 24 teams).
